Disclaimer: I received free product in exchange for this review. The opinions are all my own.

I have to tell you, when I got this kids cd in the mail to review, I was a bit skeptical.  I do NOT enjoy listening to kid music. At all. I have talked my son into listening to Jack Johnson because he sings the songs in the new Curious George movie and has a soundtrack, that’s about as far as I go listening to kid music. We also sing some songs from church and those are fun, but I was pretty nervous about listening to a kid CD. I was pleasantly surprised!

The first thing I noticed, was that Groove Kid Nation, Rhythm Bears, teaches kids to recognize different instruments! How cool is that! I have grown up in a somewhat musical family and can play three instruments. {Piano, Guitar, Alto Saxophone} I love listening to music and trying to figure out all of the different instruments that are being used. Each song in this playlist, features a specific instrument, for instance, “The Why Song” features the Harmonica, “Teddy Bears Picnic” features the Clarinet, “The Train Song” features the Banjo, and the “Tiny Bear” song features the Ukulele! You get the idea! I think one of my favorite ways to help kids appreciate and love music is to TEACH them about all the different sounds instruments make and all the things you can do with them! It’s like having personal music lessons for your child, but featuring a variety of instruments. My children are 3 years and 1 year, so starting them on a instrument this early might be a bit much, but introducing them to songs and educational yet fun music like this is perfect tool for helping kids love music.

IMG_3666 I also really appreciated that these songs were interactive. They have parts where kids are singing along and being a part of the music being made. What a great way to introduce music at a young age! Involve them! IMG_3667

I really only have good things to say about this CD, besides involving kids to sing, they also involve kids to make noises with their mouths, and moving their bodies to be a part of the music. During “the Train Song” , my son was dancing and singing along! {This NEVER happens, usually during songs he sits there like a stone, but with the train song he was dancing along and way into it! He LOVES this song, and asks for it now!}

I also wanted to make a note about the company. Groove Kid Nation had lightning fast shipping, and even donate 10% of their profit to a organization called CARE. CARE is a humanitarian organization that fights poverty. {Visit Care.Org for more information} Isn’t it neat how different companies share their talent to help others? I really appreciate that when I am buying a product, and am grateful.

Overall, I really enjoyed this kids cd, and loved that they are helping my children using their talents, to appreciate music, and to get involved and boogie! :)

And, if you visit their website, and give them your email, they will send you some free samples of their music to try out before you buy! They also have a fun playlist to listen to and sample, and very informative and helpful articles about getting your children more involved musically, what a great resource!

Let me know if you have any questions! :) And if you haven’t read this article by Markell about helping your kids love music, check it out! There is a fun printable and great information!
